LULU. I Love You.

This Memorial is DEDICATED TO ARCHANGEL RAPHAEL, and THE BLESSED SAINT MARTIN DE PORRES.

Saint Martin de Porres - Patron of The Suffering and Animals, (the Saint for Our Times) - please
Bless and Heal all on here. Thank you.

Lulu had been abandoned & appallingly mistreated until I found her in a Rescue Centre. She was
terrified of People but gradually came to trust me, following me everywhere. She was my Best Friend,
loyal and constant companion. Initially, I missed her desperately, and was distraught. With my
entire Family on the other side of the World, Lulu was not 'just a Cat'. She was my Family. We were
a Unit, and still are:)

Lulu had the most mesmerising luminescent silvery-blue eyes. Her Fur is Snow White, and she was so
Fluffy, Adorable & Sweet. One of the most beautiful Cats most had ever seen, (the 'Marilyn Monroe'
of Cats many said, smilingly) with a gentle and wonderful temperament in equal measure.

Lulu is the great love of my love - strange as that may sound to many. You may have surmised I am a
besotted Animal Lover! All kindred spirits will understand:)

She was so very, very special and blessed. How we came to meet, is quite an account, in itself,
actually. It was definitely ‘meant to be'!

She was with me through several Family deaths, my Cousin's suicide, two Friends' deaths, when my
Parents and deceased Grandparents' beloved Pets and Homes were completely destroyed by fire,
together with a few Relatives who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Throughout it all, she comforted me and provided constant loyalty and unconditional love. Thank you
so much, Lulu. You are an Angel.

I was being 'tested' as we all are in this Earthly Life, and it was a particularly horrific time.
You provided infinite and much needed succour, precious one.

Lulu-Poppy suddenly and very unexpectedly, died of an embolism on 10th August 2008. Very sadly, I
never got to say Goodbye, plunging me into total shock. My last image of her was all curled up in a
small white box at the Veterinarian Hospital, dead.

However, I have healed now, and feel nothing but Joy, and Peace when I think of, and sense Lulu
around:)

Thank you very much to those who have left Tributes and/or lit Candles.

I just wanted to let you know that I made it home.
The journey wasn't an easy one, but it didn't take too long.

Everything is so pretty here, so white, so fresh and new
I wish that you could close your eyes and that you could see it too.

Please try not to be sad for me.
Try to understand God is taking care of me.
I'm in the shelter of His hands.

Here there is no sadness, no sorrow, and no pain.
Here there is no crying and I'll never hurt again.

Here it is so peaceful when all the angels sing.
I really have to go for now... I've just got to try my wings.

Missing you Lulu

They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

The Storm.
Written by Judey LaRocca

The first wave hits with a tremendous force,
So strong you think you’ll die.
There is no refuge from the storm,
And you utter a desperate cry.

The oceans rage, you understand,
Things will never be the same again.
You look to the heavens with tears in your eyes,
And say “Good-Bye” to your faithful friend.

The second wave hits with a force the same,
As the first wave did before.
You hold her close; kiss her one last time,
Whispering “I love you, I’ll never forget you”…
You walk out the door.

The waves continue strong and hard,
Each bringing grief and pain.
Disbelief overwhelms you…
“She’ll never come home again.”

The storm persists with waves of anguish,
Reflections of years gone by.
Questioning yourself about the things you’ve done,
And silently you cry…

You do not remember the good you’ve done,
Rather dwell on the things you didn’t do.
Another wave hits, you fight back the tears,
Engulfed by heartfelt sorrow…
Pain you never knew.

Thoughts of “Why didn’t I...” or “I should’ve done…”
Race throughout your mind,
Shadowing the good memories,
The memories that are left behind.

Each wave continues bringing grief and pain,
Though now they are not quite as strong.
Repeatedly crashing down on your heart,
You pray for them to be gone.

Gradually, the waves do subside,
Yet some still cause pain and despair.
Little by little the good memories emerge,
And you remember the love you shared.

Your heart still aches, the tears still fall,
But the storm is reaching an end.
You can smile now, even laugh,
Bittersweet are the memories of your faithful friend.

The skies are brightening, the sun is appearing,
The ocean is calm once more.
The waves that ravaged your sanity,
Now lap gently, upon the shore.

In the light of the sun, the memories are clear,
You are no longer filled with pain.
Once again you think of your faithful friend,
And smile, when you speak her name.

A rainbow appears above, in the sunlit sky,
Quiet thoughts of her brighten your day.
The sunshine reflects the brilliance of her life,
At last you realize, she lives on in your heart and you will,
Be together again…
Someday.

Always by our sides
Until the end of time

Always see your smile

Always there to guide us
Along lifes lonely path

Always we remember

Always we will see you
Each and every day

Always is a long time
Always is forever
Always lasts a lifetime
That means forget you never

Always we are waiting
Always feel the pain
Always we are grieving

They enter our lives wide-eyed and lovable
with the innocence of a child
and yet they seem to have the wisdom of the ages within their spirits.
Not having verbal skills has enabled us to confide in them
more than we would a human companion.
If you look deep into their eyes
you must believe that they understand
what we need and are just waiting for us to allow them to meet that desire.
They ask for little, some food some water but most importantly
our touch when we have time.
For this they devote their entire life to us.
They don't accuse us they don't judge us.
They are content to lie by our side.
What have we humans done to deserve such loyalty?
We forget about them when it is not convenient
we throw them away when the novelty wears off.
Yet they still come back for more.
They are known as companion animals and
they take their responsibilities seriously.
Some companions have the tenderness to work with the sick
others have the ability to guide the blind or assist the disabled.
While others work in law enforcement or in rescue work.
Then there are those whose main mission
in life is pure companionship.
Many of us grew up with the belief in guardian angels
sent down to earth to watch over us.
I wonder if our beloved pet companions are the
personification of these guardian angels.
Then the heart breaking moment comes;
God is calling them home.
We beg Him to give us more time but His will must be done.
It is time for our babies to start their new journey with their new family.
For some of us we must assist our companions
in their journey by allowing them to go.
We must cut the leash that binds them here.
We must continue on without them and we doubt that we can.
Eventually the veil of darkness lifts from our hearts and
we realize that life is a circle.
The end of one life means the beginning of a brand new wondrous life.
Just as the seasons come and go, so shall we.
Our babies have soared to the
heavens and for every baby that has passed a star is born.
Their light shines down upon us.
The memories of their love and devotion fill our hearts and the tears turn to smiles.
We come to recognize that we will be re-united again with our babies and
until that time we continue the circle of life and
love by sharing our home with a new bright eyed baby and
the circle begins again.

I think about you most of every day.
You are the gift that graces all I do,
The single star that lights my lonely way.
I miss so much what words cannot convey:
The lilt, the laugh, the smile, the savor new.
I think about you most of every day

And dream about the places where you play,
Wandering where you might wander, too,
The single star that lights my lonely way,

The happiness that haunts where I must stay,
This wilderness of soul where wounds accrue.
I think about you most of every day,

And in this cell where I am locked away,
Where no one hears my song, I sing to you,
The single star that lights my lonely way.

I sing of truth that words cannot betray
And love no harrowing can hide from view.
I think about you most of every day,
The single star that lights my lonely way.

•♥ YOU WERE HERE ♥•
Copyright (c) Jenine Stanley, 1999

As I sit in those moments of quiet,
When sadness invades me,
I know that yesterday,
You were here.
○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○
Now you are away from us,
Not knowing your future,
Or when you'll come home, but yesterday,
You were here.
○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○
It has now been a week,
A week since you last were in the house,
An entire week since we carried you away,
To the place where we did not know your future,
But just last week,
You were here.
○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○
Another day passes;
a week ago, you were still with us,
In daily reports from the clinic,
They did not know your future,
But we could still hope, and,
You were here.
○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○
More days pass;
A week ago you left us,
Your head cradled in our hands,
Your spirit gracefully moving upward,
But for a few hours of that day,
You were here.
○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○
Sadness invades again,
As I know that once those hours pass,
I can no longer look back,
Over the span of a familiar week's time,
To find that comforting point when,
You were here.
○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○
More time will pass;
Sadness will not so much invade as menace,
And I will mark the days,
Saying things like,
"last month, last summer, last Halloween, last year,"
You were here.
○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○
I dread that day,
One year from now,
That first marking of the time,
That your body was no longer with us;
Though we will never forget you,
Your tangible memory fades,
The feel of your fur, your head, your back, your weight against us,
The smell and sounds of you when,
You were here.
○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○•○
The emptiness is beginning to fade,
To change into another reality,
One with you still playing a part,
But a role of ethereal presence rather than physical comfort we crave;
Your memory, your spirit, your essence and counsel,
Dwell with us, but this feeling is not the same as when,
You were here.

THINKING ABOUT OUR LOVED ONES

You can shed tears that they are gone,
Or you can smile because they lived,
You can close your eyes and pray
That they will come back,

Or you can open your eyes
And see all that they have left.
Your heart can be empty
Because you can't see them

Or you can be full
Of the love that you shared,
You can turn your back on
Tomorrow and live yesterday,

Or you can be happy for tomorrow
Because of yesterday.
You can remember them
And only that they are gone

Or you can cherish the memory
And let it live on,
You can cry and close your mind
Be empty and turn your back,

Or you can do what they would want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

LETTER FROM HEAVEN.
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
